This is from inside the building “BMW Welt”. I’ve asked at the reception if I can take some photographs, they told me that it is o.k. for personal use. So, here you go:

BMW Welt (English – BMW World) is a multi-functional customer experience and exhibition facility of the BMW Group. In direct proximity to the BMW Headquarters, it is designed to present the current products of BMW, be a distribution center for BMW cars and offer an event forum and a conference center.

Designed by architects Coop Himmelb(l)au for BMW Group, the facility was constructed from August 2003 through Summer 2007. Originally conceived to be open and ready for World Cup 2006, it eventually opened on October 17, 2007 and deliveries commenced on October 23, 2007. The first customer to take delivery of a new BMW at the Welt was Jonathan Spira.

Designed with an 800 KWatt solar plant on its roof, “the building does not have the boredom of a hall, it is not only a temple, but also a market place and a communication center and meeting place for knowledge transfer”, said architect Prix at the opening ceremony.

BMW Welt focuses on strengthening the dialogue with customers and visitors by showing the complete range of BMW vehicles, and providing vehicle distribution, particularly the creation of a special experience with regards customer collection of an ordered vehicle. BMW Welt also offers shops with BMW auxiliary products, as well as a fully serviced gastronomic restaurant. In the meeting forum, BMW Welt offers conference rooms and the opportunity to stage media events.

On 29 July 2009, BMW announced that it would be withdrawing from Formula One at the end of the 2009 season. The team cited “current developments in motorsport” as the reason for their decision.

BMW Z4 roadster

Here is my favourite car from BMW: the Z4 sDrive 35i. It is small, fast and sporty.

The stunning good looks of the 2009 Z4 are attributable to a bit of BMW lore. For the first time in the history of the company, a car’s interior and exterior designers are both female. Now, whether the car is better looking because Juliane Blasi drew it is a subjective question. However, there is no doubt the car drives better as well.

Hey, nothing’s perfect – but this new BMW Z4 is pretty darn close. 2009 BMW Z4 pricing (including destination) starts at $46,575 for the 30i and $52,475 for the 35i.

BMW Turm – Vierzylinder

This is the famous BMW tower at Munich, they call it “Vierzylinder” (four-cylinder). On the opposite side this large black building is the “BMW Welt”, it was built most recently.

The BMW-Vierzylinder (eng: “BMW four-cylinder” also BMW Tower or BMW Headquarters) is a Munich landmark, which has been serving as world headquarters for the Bavarian automaker for over 30 years. The building was declared historical in 1999. An extensive remodel commenced in 2004 and was completed in 2006.

The BMW Museum is located near the BMW Tower and was established in 1972 shortly before the Summer Olympics opened. It deals with the history of the automobile manufacturer BMW. In connection with the construction of the BMW Welt, directly opposite to the museum, it was renovated from 2004 to 2008. The museum reopened on June 21, 2008.

Next to the BMW tower there is their first Plant, the Plant Munich or “BMW Werk 1″. This is the oldest plant of the company. The production was separated to several Plants and countries, mostly in Germany and Austria. Here in Munich will be produced the 3 series BMWs. Here is a nice virtual tour about the plant Munich.

WWP Diversity – My interpretation for diversity

This is my interpretation for the World Wide Panorama Diversity theme.
Unfortunately I didn’t have much time for finding a nice place for this theme,
I was in a big hurry because I worked all week and on saturday too.

I couldn’t find an idea that would be the best place for this event. After all,
we went to a nice Bavarian pub and restaurant called ‘Bratwursthaeusl,’ and
had some beer from 1l Bavarian mugs. We ordered a ‘plate of plenty’ too:
this is a large plate full of Bavarian food sorts. At last I thought that this would
be a nice theme – after some mugs we didn’t want to go further for another one.
