Help on how to view the panoramic pictures:

On the left sidebar you should see a link “Select your preferred viewer!”, here you can change the default viewer. You should enable the cookies in your browser in order to set the preferred viewer, as it stores a cookie on your computer for one week.

Some notes on the viewer plugins:

  • No preference – This is the default, it is a fallback to QuickTime.
  • Quicktime – It is an Apple format for Macintosh machines and PCs with Windows. You can download the free Quicktime player from here. It has no hardware acceleration, so it is not recommended.
  • Shockwave / SPi-V – It is a Shockwave-based plugin for PC and Mac browsers, you can download it free from here. It has hardware acceleration, altough hasn’t the best picture quality in my opinion.
  • DevalVR – It is a PC-only plugin with hardware acceleration, sharp pictures and good picture quality. You can download the free plugin from here.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any plugins for displaying fullscreen panoramas on linux systems. There is a java applet by Helmut Dersch, but java needs so many resources that we cannot display fullscreen panoramas with it.

How to navigate:

Just click on the picture, and drag your mouse to look around. To zoom, use the Shift or Ctrl keys, or alternatively push the right mouse button and move the mouse forwards or backwards. (It works only in DevalVR and in SPi-V.)
