This building belongs to the engineer department.
It was built around 1970, as the last component of the building complex.
Before it there is a pool with a fountain, but unfortunately it has
only rarely water in it.

It’s been a long time since I published my last panorama here,
but I was very busy. The next WWP event is coming, and I didn’t
even published my submission from december. Unfortunately I missed
the autumn event, the theme was colours. I had the idea of a large
colorful theme park, but had flu and didn’t want to go out in the cold.

Anyway, this one is from march 2008, so it is one year old. I remember
those days, the wind blowed very heavy, all the internal shots were done
long ago, I missed only some external panoramas around the university to
make the virtual tour ready.
Alas it was not a good choice to shoot the outdoor scenes in march,
you cannot see the beautiful flora around the university surroundings.

This panorama was taken at the main dormitory of the Szent Istvan Egyetem,
the second, newly built one will be the subject of my next upload.

As you can see, the wall is teared down at the corner,
because the work is not finished yet. At the right side of
the coffee machine there is the entrance of the library.
I will show you our library in the next published panoramas.

At the left side of the Coke machine it is a fake door, used
only in the old times when the room of the current library served
as a dining room. If you go through the door left of these,
you get outside to the courtyard.

This is one of the oldest stairway at the University.

Alas it has no water in the basin. Behind the foutain farther on
you can see the flowerpots made of concrete. These pots originate
from the last century, from the premontrei times.
In the midst of the 19th century this building served as a monastic quarter
and was the home of the premontrei monks.

And some words about my masterpiece to prepare:
I’ve finished my thesis about making virtual tours,
and my masterpiece is almost done. (90%)
I was given some small texts about some nodes,
but I need to write some other texts. 15 nodes still
missing the descriptions so far.

I added some plain pictures into the extras section as supplementary
to the multimedia disk, and it contains some werk photos just for
the curious ones. And the last hint: there is an easter-egg built-in,
find for the unseen node on the map!

The signs on the wall help you navigate inside
the building of the University. I remember when I was a freshman how
much these signs helped me finding the right classroom.

This door leads to the main entrance, and upsides there are the board rooms
at the first and second floor. Right from the door there is a fountain between
the pine trees.

The one way of this 3-way passage has a window to the inner park,
it is at the opposite side of the entrance door to the board room.
As you can see, it has a lot of ornaments on its walls all over.
Some of these are seashell-shaped. Unfortunately, I have little
to do with architecture, so I don’t either know in what kind of style it has built.

By the way, my masterpiece for my dissertation is already at version 2,
it only lacks some background music and the texts for these nodes.
This panorama is also included in my multimedia – it will be a masterpiece
for my dissertation – as it is photographed also at the St Istvan University.
The people at the University are working on these texts,
and if I have some time I will make the narration soundtracks too.

This Institute resides in the attic, in a newly-built part built about 4 years ago.
It is a part of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences section.
The abbreviation comes from hungarian: Regionális Gazdasági- és Vidékfejlesztési Intézet – RGVI.

The high dynamic range is achieved with the help of a new HDR software, enfuse.
I have taken 3 exposure photo sets, stitched and blended the 3 panoramas separate,
and finally “fused” with this new tool together. It is a very powerful application,
gives very natural look altough the resulting image can have very large dynamic range.

When you look downwards you can see the parking lot dedicated
directly to the higher staff of the unversity, such as dean, etc…

Behind the cars there is a large green park with a statue of prince Kalman on a horse.
Coloman I. the Book-lover (Hungarian: I. (Könyves) Kálmán), also spelled Koloman (c. 1070 – 3 February 1116),
was the king of Hungary (1095-1116) and of Croatia (1102-1116).

Anyway, this picture was made with the help of enfuse. There were
3 separate exposures and all those were fused together.
However, the ceiling and the bottom parts were not too perfect due to
that enfuse handles the zenith and nadir (upper and lower) parts not yet properly,
it is only in an alpha state.

“If contrasty structures are near zenith or nadir in an equirectangular image, there might be an artifact (vortex) in the resulting pano. Workaround: use on zenith and nadir images separately and stitch them in the resulting pano afterwards.”

So I was given with a large neon-greenish artifact, and I needed to PS it away.
But the retouch was not perfect, you can see me with the tripod becoming sweaty
in the glass. It was too hot in the window because of the reflections.

By the way, the sitting student is my colleague and good friend, Daniel Kadar.
He helped me carrying all the photo accessories during the photoshoot of the University.
